DESERT BECKONS


Traveller your journey on sand
beckons you from a far away land
you may gather moonbeams on your way
or just fritter some dust away

Kites fly on winds that burn
a lonely camel awaits thunder
the night breeze wipes the cobwebs
of a mind not tuned to wonder

Its the sand which holds you tight
binds you to this earthy life
what is music to heavens
is your humanity and strife

This May, meeting women on the mountains of Kulu was a great experience . We bonded well and it was amazing to see their hardworking nature and smiling faces all the time.When in India one must see village life in the himalayas to learn some survival tactics in cold and windy weather.

Despite their meagre and basic lifestyle their happiness quotient was far above some city dwellers i know myself included. It seems all the fresh air and bubbling. water springs add a zest to their lives.
