Choices We Make

Friend you may hide in a corner
Trying to find a space or lack of it
It is easy to shy behind a veil
Of no thoughts or commitments
Whose worth can we measure true
If sea of darkness is not removed
Doing nothing about the wrongs
Is it a choice , your heart approves?
Open your heart to the love around
Like a bride and groom on wedding night
Loving humanity despite its flaws
Accepting , making it more bright

worms in our lives

in a garden lived the bluebird
pecking at lifes burdens
she often thought of birds,
of flying to other heavens
where will she find the cherry
or fields laden with fruit
how many friends will she make
when far away she scoots?
many a times in her dreams
an enchanting sky emerged
when she was pecked by worms
in the soil of her earth
with a smile she asked them
why you dont rise from soil
to travel with me afar
when greens beckon, waters sing
why in sand you loiter?
in life we need the worms
to make our soils green
who look up to us with wonder
when we fly with our dreams.
